PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s trust rating saw a significant jump in the June 2025 Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey, while Vice President Sara Duterte’s rating remained largely unchanged, according to a Monday release by the Stratbase Group. Marcos’ trust rating climbed 10 percentage points to 48% in June, up from 38% in May.
Duterte’s rating, meanwhile, showed minimal change, rising only one point to 61% from 60% the previous month.
The SWS survey, conducted from June 25 to 29, 2025, polled 1,200 Filipino adults nationwide and has a ±3% margin of error.
Stratbase Group President Prof. Victor Andres “Dindo” Manhit highlighted the survey’s importance in gauging the current political climate and public sentiment towards key national leaders.
He noted that the substantial increase in President Marcos’ trust rating suggests a potential resurgence of public confidence in his administration, emphasizing the need for sustained positive ratings to ensure political stability and effective governance.
Other notable shifts in the survey include Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero, whose trust rating increased by 8 percentage points to 55% in June, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez, whose rating also saw an 8-point rise to 34%. These shifts in public perception offer valuable insights into the evolving dynamics of Philippine politics.
