BOC-Clark turns over P5.7M worth of fake drugs, derivates to PDEA

THE Bureau of Customs – Port of Clark turned over, on February 28, various forfeited illegal drugs and marijuana-based products with an estimated value of

P5,740,118.50 to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region III.

Among the illegal substance that was turned over includes 3,215 pieces of ecstasy, two (2) 1000G glass container labeled as raw organic honey which positively resulted for the presence of marijuana and various products with CBD and marijuana content such as vape cartridges, gummies and hemp cream.

Said items were seized in different dates for violation of Sections 118 (g), 119 (d) and 1113 (f) of R.A. No. 10863 or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) in relation to R.A. No. 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Hence, the same were turned over to PDEA for proper disposition.

District Collector Alexandra Lumontad highlighted the efficient profiling and effective x-ray scanning capabilities of BOC personnel, as well as the close coordination conducted with PDEA, as critical steps taken in preventing these illegal drugs from entering the borders and reaching the consumers.

The Port of Clark echoes the statement of PDEA and Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) on December 10, 2020 that these products with cannabis or marijuana content are dangerous drugs and need further compliance with regulatory agencies such as PDEA and FDA to ensure safety use.
