THE Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported early Saturday that there remains a “medium” chance of the low-pressure area (LPA) east of Catanduanes developing into a tropical depression.
As of 3:00 a.m., the LPA was situated 240 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes. Its presence is bringing cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms to several regions, including Bicol, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao, Aurora, and Quezon.
Meanwhile, the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will affect Metro Manila, MIMAROPA, Ilocos, the rest of Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Visayas, and Mindanao. Localized thunderstorms are also expected in other parts of Luzon.
Pagasa forecasts light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters across the entire country. Sunrise over Metro Manila was at 5:26 a.m., with sunset expected at 6:24 p.m.
