AN arrest warrant has been issued for Atty. Harry Roque and Cassandra Ong in connection with a human trafficking case linked to alleged illegal activities at the Lucky South 99 Corporation, a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub in Porac, Pampanga.
The warrant was issued by the Angeles City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 118.
The charges stem from allegations of Roque’s involvement in the POGO hub’s operations. Roque, currently residing in The Hague, Netherlands, has previously confirmed his application for political asylum in that country.
He has consistently denied any connection to Lucky South 99 and any allegations of unexplained wealth.
The issuance of the arrest warrant marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation. Authorities will now pursue the apprehension of Roque and Ong to face the charges against them.
The case highlights the complexities of investigating alleged human trafficking linked to the POGO industry and the challenges involved in pursuing legal action against high-profile individuals.
The details surrounding the allegations and the ongoing investigation are expected to unfold as the case proceeds through the legal system. Roque’s claim of political asylum is likely to add another layer of complexity to the process of bringing him to justice.
