PSC heightened security protocols after VP Sara’s threat remarks

admin November 24, 2024

THE Presidential Security Command (PSC) has announced a heightened security posture following Vice President Sara Duterte’s recent remarks about an alleged assassination plot against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, and Speaker Martin Romualdez.

In a statement released on Saturday, the PSC confirmed that it has implemented enhanced security protocols and is working closely with law enforcement agencies to address any potential threats.

“Pursuant to the directive of the Executive Secretary, the Presidential Security Command (PSC) has heightened and strengthened its security protocols,” the statement read. “We are also closely coordinating with law enforcement agencies to detect, deter, and defend against any and all threats to the President and the First Family.”

The PSC emphasized that any threat to the President and his family, especially one made publicly, is taken seriously. “We consider this a matter of national security and shall take all necessary measures to ensure the President’s safety,” the statement concluded.

The Vice President’s comments, made during a midnight press conference last Friday, sparked widespread concern and condemnation. While Duterte later retracted her statements, the PSC’s response underscores the gravity of the situation and the government’s commitment to protecting the President and his family.
