FOURTEEN  people have died after being buried by the collapsing soil in Talisay, Batangas due to Typhoon “Kristine,” according to the Police Regional Office 4A (PRO4A).

PRO4A spokesperson Police Lieutenant Colonel Chitadel Gaoiran said the tragedy occurred in Barangay Sampaloc on Thursday night.

Police reported that among the eight bodies initially found, five were minors.

Rescue and retrieval operations are ongoing in the area, the police added.

Batangas is one of the provinces severely affected by Typhoon Kristine, which is now outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).
