Romualdez lauds appointment of Cavite Gov. Jonvic Remulla as DILG secretary

admin October 8, 2024

SPEAKER Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez on Tuesday extended his congratulations to Cavite Gov. Jonvic Remulla on his appointment as the Secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), expressing full confidence in the governor’s qualifications and extensive experience in local governance as a solid foundation for his new role.

“We are happy with Gov. Jonvic’s appointment as DILG Secretary. Bilang isang matagal na naging lokal na opisyal, alam niya ang tunay na pangangailangan ng ating LGUs, lalo na pagdating sa pamamahala, kapayapaan at seguridad,” said Speaker Romualdez.

Speaker Romualdez emphasized that Remulla’s years of service as a local government official make him exceptionally qualified for the position.

He noted that Remulla’s hands-on experience in managing one of the largest and most progressive provinces in the country equips him with the skills and insights needed to lead the DILG.

“Sa tagal na niyang naglingkod sa Cavite, kilala niya ang bawat sulok at pangangailangan ng kanyang probinsya. Alam ni Gov. Jonvic kung paano pag-isahin ang lokal na pamahalaan at ang pambansang gobyerno para sa kabutihan ng bawat Pilipino,” Speaker Romualdez continued.

The Speaker praised Remulla’s leadership, which has turned Cavite into one of the most economically dynamic provinces in the Philippines.

He expressed belief that Remulla’s strategic thinking and innovative approaches will bring much-needed reforms and improvements to the country’s LGUs.

“Gov. Jonvic’s deep understanding of local issues, combined with his dedication to public service, will greatly benefit our LGUs nationwide. He knows what it takes to elevate local governance and to create a safe and secure environment for all Filipinos,” Speaker Romualdez added.

The Leyte lawmaker also highlighted Remulla’s focus on peace and order, which has been a significant aspect of his leadership in Cavite.

He expressed confidence that Remulla’s approach to maintaining security and stability will resonate well in his new role as DILG Secretary.

The House leader also acknowledged Remulla’s efforts in creating policies that encourage development, economic progress, and strong public-private partnerships in Cavite, noting that these initiatives can be effectively scaled at the national level through his leadership in the DILG.

Speaker Romualdez expressed his belief that with Remulla at the helm of the DILG, the agency will be even more capable of addressing the challenges faced by LGUs across the country, assuring the new Interior Secretary will have the full support of the House of Representatives.

“Malaki ang ating tiwala na sa pamumuno ni Gov. Jonvic Remulla sa DILG, patuloy nating mapapaunlad ang ating mga lokal na pamahalaan,” Romualdez expressed.
