THE lifeless body of an 18-year-old female, stabbed, was found in her rented house in San Carlos Heights in Baguio City.
According to CJ Torida’s report on GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon, the victim hailed from Ifugao and worked as a customer care assistant at a bar in the city.
In a separate report by GMA News “24 Oras,” the victim was identified as Kacey Gabriel Labayen.
The victim was found lifeless with stab wounds on her neck on Friday afternoon.
In the police investigation, it was mentioned that the victim’s friend became concerned when she didn’t respond to calls and texts.
The friend then went to the victim’s rented house where she discovered the victim’s bloody body.
“We have identified a person of interest and are establishing the link to confirm that this is the suspect,” said Police Major Harriet Bulcio, spokesperson of the Baguio City Police Office.
The victim’s cellphone and other belongings were reportedly missing from the house.
“There is evidence found at the crime scene, and we are still awaiting the autopsy report,” Bulcio added.
The police are also reviewing the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage in the barangay that may aid in the investigation.
The Baguio City police are also cooperating with the Cybercrime Unit as part of the investigation.
“It is possible that she knew the suspect. We have obtained their conversations on social media,” Bulcio said.
The victim’s family has not issued a statement yet.
