SENATOR Allan Peter Cayetano sponsors Senate Bill No. 2781 also known as the Act Institutionalizing the Transition of the Government to E-Governance, which seeks to establish the E-Governance Academy Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
The measure aims to streamline various government process by transitioning them to digital platforms, making services more efficient and accessible for all citizens, including overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). Cayetano illustrated how a single app could simplify numerous tasks, from e-payments to face recognition, to travelling, immigration processing and even national identification concerns.
“The opportunities are boundless. Only God knows the limitation of e-governance in the digital age,” Cayetano said. He said the transition to e-governance would eliminate red tape, corruption, duplication issues and even human mistakes.
