TOTS Carlos’ debut for Alas Pilipinas will have to wait, as Creamline’s ace spiker will apparently miss the forthcoming 2024 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Challenger Cup from July 4 to 7 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Alas Women head coach Jorge Souza de Brito confirmed the development on Sunday during the Manila leg finale of the 2024 Volleyball Nations League (VNL).
“(Tots Carlos) plays good. She’s always been the one who we requested for us for the national team. But at the moment, she’s not there,” said de Brito.
“Rebisco (Creamline’s mother company) will release something (about this development soon). What we’re expecting is to bring the guys who are really good at the same time.”
As it stands, fellow Cool Smasher Jema Galanza, UE ace Casiey Dongalo and the National U 1-2 punch of two-time UAAP MVP Bella Belan and Alyssa Solomon will be the newest additions ahead of yet another home tournament for the Philippines.
“We still have the same players. Of course, we’re gonna add but now for the lineup, we have 18 players including Jema, Belen who will join us now.”de Brito added: “(The pool is) almost complete and we’ll find it out with these (18) players,” de Brito added as posted on spin.ph
The Philippines will face Vietnam in the knockout quarterfinals of the Challenger Cup on July 4 for a shot to secure the last available spot for the 2025 VNL season.
