THE Land Transportation Office on Saturday will file charges against a driver who was caught driving a colorum van in Los Baños, Laguna.
In a statement, Brillo Adremisin was turned over to the local police, while the van that he used was impounded.
The LTO said that the release of an impounded colorum van will require a court order even if its owner pays the fine.
LTO Chief Vigor Mendoza warned other operators and drivers of colorum vehicles to cease their operations amid its crackdown on colorum vehicles.
“Magpapatuloy ang agresibong operasyon ng inyong LTO sa buong bansa. Kaya ngayon pa lang ay pinapayuhan natin ang mga operator at driver ng colorum vehicles na tumigil na at lumagay sa tama,” Mendoza said as quoted in the release.
The LTO added that Adremisin was not able to show a Certificate of Public Convenience when he was apprehended at an unmentioned date, and that the 11 passengers said that they paid P500 for the journey from Real, Quezon to Calamba.
