LAWMAKERS from the Davao Region have expressed sincere appreciation and gratitude to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez for continuously sending aid to victims of extreme flooding in Davao Oriental, the most recent of which is the endorsement of P150 million in cash aid and 51,000 food packs for the region.
They said that the aid to Davao flood victims contextualizes the Bagong Pilipinas campaign of the Marcos administration, which focuses on an all-inclusive plan for economic and social transformation for citizens, and brings the government closer to the people.
Davao Oriental Reps. Nelson Dayanghirang and Cheeno Almario, Davao del Norte Rep. Aldu Dujali, Davao de Oro Rep. Maricar Zamora, PBA Partylist Rep. Migs Nograles, and Davao del Norte Vice Gov. Oyo Uy all thanked Marcos and Romualdez for sending aid to their respective constituents.
All the lawmakers’ districts were endorsed for P20 million cash assistance each and P10 million for Vice Governor Uy’s office under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and received food packs for distribution from the offices of Speaker Romualdez and Tingog Reps. Yedda K. Romualdez and Jude Acidre.
“We are very grateful for the aid and food packs sent through the tireless efforts of our President and Speaker Romualdez. These will provide our constituents lifelines, especially those affected by the floods in Davao Oriental. This big gesture echoes loudly in our hearts,” Zamora said.
“Ito ang tunay na Bagong Pilipinas: mabilis na aksyon, tunay na serbisyo,” Dayanghirang stressed, saying that the financial aid and the food packs are much-needed relief for his constituents who continue to suffer from the effects of the flooding.
Almario, on the other hand, said his constituents will be grateful for the influx of support coming from the national government as facilitated by Romualdez, the leader of the 300-plus-members House of Representatives.
“Deepest gratitude to President Marcos Jr. and Speaker Romualdez for their compassionate support during this challenging time in Davao region. The gesture speaks volumes, providing not only essentials but also a sense of solidarity that uplifts spirits,” Almario said.
“Damang-dama namin na andito ang ating pamahalaan at laging handang tumulong sa mga mamamayan. Ito ang tunay na diwa ng Bagong Pilipinas,” he added.
Dujali, Zamora and Nograles were also all praises for the President and Speaker Romualdez, who requested an additional 30,000 food packs from DSWD for affected areas.
“In times of crisis, actions speak louder than words. Thank you for recognizing the urgency and making a real difference in the lives of those affected by the floods,” said Dujali.
“These are the actions that matter, not the political noise. Your quick response with cash aid and food is a true understanding of the needs of the people,” Zamora said.
“Not just talk but meaningful action. President Marcos Jr. and Speaker Romualdez, your support is making a real impact on the ground in Davao City. Thank you for recognizing the urgency and delivering genuine help,” said Nograles.
Vice Gov. Uy also expressed his appreciation for the support that the administration of President Marcos Jr. has extended his office.
“In times of crisis, true leaders shine, and we are grateful to President Marcos Jr. and Speaker Romualdez for their immediate help. The cash aid and food packs are invaluable to the people of Davao del Norte, proving that solidarity can bring real relief,” he said.
“Your assistance is a significant relief, providing hope and comfort to those grappling with the aftermath of the floods,” he added.
