Comelec pumalag sa petisyon ng panibagong COC filing

NANINDIGAN ang Commission on Elections (Comelec) laban sa petisyong nagsusulong para sa muling pagbubukas ng paghahain ng kandidatura.

Ang kanilang hatol – hindi pwede.

Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ni Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez na tuluyan nang ibinasura ng komisyon ang petisyong inihain ng Partido Demokratikong Pilipino-Laban (PDP-Laban) na pinamumunuan mismo ng Pangulo.

Giit ng Comelec, tapos na ang itinakdang araw na ibigay ng Comelec para sa mga kandidato sa paghahain ng kanilang Certificate of Candidacy (COC), maging ang substitution. Giit ng PDP-Laban (Cusi wing), dapat anilang pahintulutan ang paghahain ng COC para sa national at local elective posts, kasabay ng panawagang huwag munang ilimbag ang mga balotang gagamitin sa halalan sa Mayo.

“The party believes that the COMELEC should re-open and allow the filing of COC’s for National and Local candidates in view of the fact that it cannot, and should not, proceed with printing of ballots for the 2022 elections while several cases affecting candidates and party-lists are still pending before it,” ani Melvin Matibag na tumatayong secretary-general ng basag na partido.

Usap-usapan ang plano ng PDP na maglagay ng kandidato sa posisyon ng Pangulo makaraang bawiin ni senador Ronald dela Rosa ang kanyang COC para bigyang daan si senador Bong Go – na kalaunan ay nagpasya ding umatras kasabay ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte para naman sa posisyon ng senador.
