A MAGNITUDE 4.9 earthquake hit the province of Batangas on Saturday afternoon, a seismic event felt even by residents from nearby areas such as the National Capital Region (NCR).
The quake was felt at around 4:04 p.m. on Saturday with an epicenter 13 kilometeres northwest of Tingloy, Batangas, according to Phivolcs.

Phivolcs earlier reported the incident to be a magnitude 4.6 earthquake but was later on adjusted to 4.9. Unlike the previous report, no damages are expected.No aftershocks and threats of tsunami are seen arising from the incident.
