A MAGNITUDE 5.7 earthquake shook parts of Surigao del Sur on Wednesday evening, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Phivolcs said the tectonic quake was located 48 kilometers northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, and occurred at 8:31 p.m. at a depth of 10 km.
State seismologists said it was an aftershock of the deadly magnitude 7.4 quake off Hinatuan on December 2 last year.
Intensity V was recorded in Bislig City, while Intensity III was felt in Cagwait town.
Phivolcssaid damage is expected from the latest quake.
