JOINT operatives of Mandaluyong and Antipolo arrested the suspect who allegedly stabbed overseas Filipino worker Canice Minica Seming to death in Antipolo last December 22.

“Para siyang normal, eh, nung hinuli siya. wala siyang… there’s no sense of remorse during his arrest. wala siyang remorse. kumuha pa sya ng sahod nya. parang walang nangyari,” said Antipolo Police Chief Police Lieutenant Colonel Ryan Manongdo.
Investigators were also able to recover the alleged murder weapon, an army knife, which was dumped in a sewer near the murder victim’s home.
According to the autopsy, Seming was stabbed 26 times.
“The number of stab wounds will be an indicator or mafi-fit siya doon sa ating ifa-file na complaint na murder,” said Manongdo. “Twenty-six na stab wounds, talagang karumaldumal. Yung degree ng pagpatay is malala.”
The Antipolo police have taken custody of Tondo, who will undergo inquest proceedings, as well as a DNA and drug test.
“Sa mga kamaganak po na, sasabihin ko, sa kapatid niya po, kina ma’m, at saka kay sir, patawarin niyo po ako. Gulong-gulo ang isip ko noon,” said Tondo. “Nagkasagutan po kami. Pinapalabas po kami… Lasing po ako noong mga time na yun,” said Tondo in an interview with GMA Integrated News.
Seming’s family was relieved over the suspect’s arrest.
“Masaya naman po kami na nakuha namin kaagad ‘yung, hindi pa hustisya, kung ‘di ‘yung pag-aksyon ng media at police. Kasi at least nakuha na namin yung suspek,” said the victim’s brother-in-law Jose Garcia. “Medyo ‘di pa namin alam kung ano talaga ang mga detalye, pero kami sa ngayon nagpapasalamat sa lahat.”
The body of 29-year-old victim Canice Minica Seming was found midnight Friday inside her sibling’s home at an exclusive subdivision in Antipolo City.
Seming was an OFW who came home to spend Christmas in the Philippines.
According to the victim’s family, Tondo had worked for them but was asked to take a break from his duties beause of “some bad experiences with him.”
The Antipolo Police meanwhile alleged that Tondo had a relationship with the victim’s family’s house helper.
But the helper had jilted him and blocked Tondo on her phone, so he had no recourse but to visit her where the crime took place.
