THE year-end bonuses of government personnel amounted to P84.55 billion in 2022, which represented a P4.24 billion increase from the previous year.
The amount consists of the year-end bonuses for all government personnel in national agencies, local government units, and all government corporations.
Workers in national government agencies received P63.11 billion in 2022, which is P2.3 billion higher compared to 2021.
Local government workers received P17.71 billion, which is P1.44 billion than the previous year.
The 2022 bonuses for personnel of government-owned or controlled corporations amounted to P3.53 billion, an increase of P506 million from 2021.
The year-end bonus is listed under “other compensation,” which is a small part of the government’s budget for personnel services.
The total compensation for government officials and employees of national government agencies in 2022 amounted to P1.39 trillion.
On the other hand, local government workers’ compensation in 2022 stood at P296.43 billion, while GOCC workers drew P117.14 billion.
