CAMP PERALTA, Jamindan, Capiz – Major General Marion R. Sison, the Commander of the Army’s 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division, has commended the security forces and the local government unit in Negros Oriental for their collaborative efforts that led to the successful anti-insurgency drive, resulting in the rescue of two pregnant CPP-NPA terrorists and the surrender of two others in Negros Oriental.
“The collaborative efforts of 11IB, 302nd Infantry Brigade, and PNP, supported by the local government unit, have achieved another significant milestone in our anti-insurgency campaign. Rescuing pregnant NPAs is not only about saving these mothers from the hardships and violence within armed groups but also about safeguarding the lives and future of their little ones. Our soldiers and police officers have truly performed commendable and heroic acts in rescuing these women. This noble deed underscores government forces’ genuine commitment to ending the local communist armed conflict,” MGen. Sison said.
The combined elements of the 11IB, 705th Mobile Company of Regional Mobile Force Battalion 7, and PNP Station launched a rescue operation in the boundaries of Barangay Napacao and Barangay Tayak in Siaton town.
The pregnant individuals were identified as alias Sarah, a member of Squad 3 and Taxation Team, and alias Aubre, Educational and Finance Staff, and at the same time Assistant Political Officer, all of Southeast Front, Komiteng Rehiyon-Negros, Cebu, Bohol, Siquijor (Dismantled) (SEF) KR-NCBS).
Sarah and Aubre are both pregnant, five and nine months, respectively. The abovementioned communist terrorists were rescued by the government forces in Sitio Katubahan in Brgy Tayak.
Prior to this, on December 17, two CPP-NPA terrorists (CNTs) voluntarily turned themselves over to the Community Support Program (CSP) Team of the unit in Brgy. Milagrosa, Sta Catalina, Negros Oriental. They were identified as Ka Delfin, a member of Squad 3 of Samahan ng Yunit Pamproganda, and Ka Bombo, a Political Guide of Squad 2 of the dismantled Southeast Front. Ka Delfin brought with him his M16 rifle, two magazines for M16, 30 rounds Ctg 5.56mm ball, one rifle grenade, and a bandolier while Ka Bombo surrendered his cal .38 revolver with five live ammunitions.
MGen. Sison also called on the remaining CNTs to follow the steps of the two NPAs who yielded to the CSP Team of the 11IB and reunite with their families and loved ones, especially during this Christmas season.
