AUTHORITIES have recovered a red Honda CRV believed to have a connection to the disappearance of Catherine Camilon, 26, a candidate in the 2023 Miss Grand Philippines pageant, in Batangas City.
Philippine National Police spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo said the car was found abandoned in a vacant lot at the corner of Dumuclay Road and Star Tollway in Barangay Pallocan East on Thursday.
“The car is now in the custody of our forensic group, particularly the regional field unit in Batangas,” Fajardo told a press conference in Baguio City.
“They would conduct a forensic examination which includes macro etching of the engine and together with our Highway Patrol Group, they would check its chassis and engine number so we can determine who is the owner of this vehicle. We would also check if we can lift fingerprints or bloodstains from it,” she said.
Two witnesses earlier surfaced in the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Calabarzon
claiming to have seen a woman’s bloodied body being transported by three men from a Nissan Juke to a Honda CRV in the evening of October 12.
This is said to have occurred hours before Camilon was first reported missing. A reward of P250,000 had been put up for information on her whereabouts.
The aspiring beauty queen was last seen alive in a mall in Lemery town. She last told her family she was in Bauan on the way to a meeting in Batangas City.
