THE Philippine National Police (PNP) said more than 27,000 police personnel will be deployed during Undas on Wednesday.
The PNP on Tuesday said it is on full alert to ensure the public’s safety as they visit cemeteries and for post-election security.
PNP spokesperson PCol. Jean Fajardo said over 4,000 assistance desks will be set up, and security personnel will also man tourist spots.
Fajardo advised the public to refrain from bringing vulnerable individuals such as children, senior citizens, and “heavily” pregnant women to the cemetery.
“Ingatan niyo rin po ang mga gamit, lalo ‘pag magta-travel kayo gamit ‘yung mga public transportation natin. Huwag po tayo magdala ng malalaking amount ng pera,” Fajardo said in an interview.
“Ingatan n’yo po ang inyong gadget, mga cellphones n’yo, huwag n’yo basta ilagay sa likod ng inyong bulsa kasi sa crowded, minsan nadukutan po kayo without you knowing,” she also said.
Fajardo also encouraged cemetery visitors to bring water and avoid bringing sharp objects.
She said theft and physical injury are the most common crimes during Undas as people tend to crowd.
