TWO suspects bigtime drug traffickers have been arrested by the police anti-illegal drug operatives separate buy-bust operations on Saturday night and seized more than P15.6 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth).
In a police report, the Police Region 4A (PRO-4A) operatives busted the suspect identified by his alias as “Eric,” 40, at around 11:30 p.m. after he sold P24,000 worth of shabu to an undercover police officer in a transaction in Barangay (village) Ilayang Iyam.
Authorities seized from the suspect 10 plastic sachets, six sealed transparent plastic bags, and five knot-tied transparent plastic bags containing shabu weighing 750 grams; and a digital weighing scale.
The confiscated illegal substance has a Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P5,100,000, or P15,300,00 in the street market at the prevailing price of P20,400 per gram.
The police tagged “Eric,” a tricycle driver and resident of the said village, as included on the drug watch list as an “HVI” or high-value individual in the local drug trade.
Earlier, the same police team also nabbed an alleged shabu peddler only identified as “Ryan.” in a sting operation in Barangay Domoit around 7:26 p.m.
The suspect yielded three sachets of shabu weighing 15.04 grams with a DDB value of P102,272, or P306,816 in the street market.
The police also confiscated a motorcycle believed to have been used by the suspect in his illegal drug business.
Both suspects are under police custody and facing charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
