DISMISSED Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board aide said in his affidavit submitted to the National Bureau of Investigation on Thursday that he has no knowledge of corruption inside the agency, a week after he was presented as a potential “whistle-blower” against corrupt personnel in the LTFRB.
“Tulad ng ibang ahensiya ng gobyerno, naniniwala akong hindi ligtas ang LTFRB sa bahid ng katiwalian na ito’y akin na ring ipinanawagan na masiyasat ng mga kinauukulan,” his affidavit read in part.
“Ngunit ang mga ito ay isinusumbong lamang din sa akin at wala akong direktang kaalaman o kumpirmasyon dahil hindi bahagi ng aking trabaho ang mag-imbestiga sa mga alegasyon,” Tumbado said.
“Sa abot ng aking kaalaman, hindi umaakyat sa DOTr at sa Malakanyang ang sinasabing irregularidad,” he added.
Earlier, Tumbado apologized to Guadiz, his former boss, for insinuating that the latter was involved in corruption in the LTFRB.
On October 9, he was presented by Manibela transport group chairman Mar Valbuena as a “whistleblower” in the alleged corrupt activities in LTFRB involving Guadiz and Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista.
Guadiz had since been suspended as an investigation was launched. Bautista later filed a cyberlibel complaint against Valbuena and a journalist in the Department of Justice.
In another affidavit on Wednesday, Tumbado said: “Whatever allegations may have been said during the press conference on October 9, 2023 where the public declaration was made were all unintentional and misguided.”
