THE Office of the Ombudsman dismissed charges filed by jailed activist Reina Mae Nasino against jail wardens when she was detained.
Nasino sued 18 officers from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), citing lack of probable cause and substantial evidence.
She accused the uniformed personnel of maltreatment of prisoners, grave coercion, torture, conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service, grave abuse of authority, grave misconduct, and oppression, as her detention saw her separated from her newborn baby that led to the kid’s death in October 2020.
