A SANGGUNIANG Kabataan (SK) official in Cebu City has been charged for allegedly abusing a 15-year-old boy in Barangay Apas.
According to a Manila Bulletin report, the 28-year-old suspect was charged with violation of Republic Act (RA) 11648 or an Act Promoting for Stronger Protection Against Rape and Sexual Exploitation and Abuse.
The SK secretary of Barangay Apas did not comment, saying he had yet to receive the complaint filed by the minor.
According to the Bulletin report, the victim “alleged that he was sexually abused by the suspect when he visited him in his boarding house in Apas sometime in June.”
“He said the incident caused him “anxiety and fear” that prompted him to report the abuse to the police,” the report added.
The victim was accompanied by his mother when he reported the incident to the Women and Children Protection Desk of the Mabolo Police Station on August 30, the report added.
