ISA pang Pinoy ang iniulat na nasawi sa mapaminsalang wildfires sa Lahaina sa isla ng Maui, Hawaii.
Kinilala ang biktimang si Rodolfo Rocutan, 76, mula sa Ilocos.
Kinumpirma naman ng apo ni Rocutan na si Rhea Rocutan Valenzuela ang pagkamatay sa kanyang Facebook page:
“We are saddened to inform you that we received a confirmation that Papa Oppo/Rodolfo/Rudy Rocutan didn’t make it due to Lahaina Maui Wildfire.”
Humihingi rin ng tulong ang pamilya ng biktima sa gastos sa pagpapalibing nito.
“I humbly ask for your help and support by donating here on GoFundMe for his funeral services and for his immediate family/our ohana in the Philippines. Big and small amounts will be much appreciated,” sabi ni Rhea.
Sa panayam ng GMA Integrated News, sinabi ng kaanak na mabait at mapagmahal na lolo si Rodolfo.
“We will never forget his beautiful laugh. He calls everyone to check if we’re all ok. He is a wonderful man with a good personality. Good soul,” sabi ni Rhea.
Sa kasalukuyan ay 23 katao na ang kinilalang nasawi sa trahedya sa 114 biktima sa search and recovery team.
Apat sa mga ito ang Filipino-Americans.
Kabilang din sina Conchita Sagudang at anak nito na si Danilo, kapwa ng Abra.
Kinilala rin ang isa pang biktima na si Alfredo Galinato, 79, ayon sa Department of Foreign Affairs.
“The DFA confirms the death of a Filipino national in the Hawaii wildfires. He was a naturalized US citizen originally from Ilocos,” ayon kay DFA Undersecretary Eduardo Jose de Vega.
