A PREVIOUSLY reported missing person deprived of liberty (PDL), initially believed to have been decapitated and concealed within a septic tank, has been recaptured in Angono, Rizal.
The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) confirmed this development, although specific information regarding the reapprehension of Michael Cataroja has not been disclosed.
Recently, bones were uncovered in septic tanks within the National Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City, originally suspected to be Cataroja’s remains.
However, forensic experts from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), speaking during a Senate hearing, revealed that the bones were likely of avian origin, not human.
BuCor Director General Gregorio Catapang Jr. said Cataroja utilized a daring escape technique by quietly commandeering a garbage truck.
