
THE OFW Party-list, in cooperation with the Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center, today held the “Bida and Kalusugan: Medical Mission for OFWs and Their Families” at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay.
Over six hundred (600) Overseas Filipino Workers and their family members availed of free medical check-up, free dental services, free medicines, free eyeglasses and other giveaways. Fifty (50) children were also checked by volunteer pediatricians and given free medicines.
OFW Party-List Rep. Marissa “Del Mar” Magsino said OFWs, especially former OFWs, often put off health check-ups and taking medications due to scarcity of funds, thus leading to poor and even, worsening health condition.
“We are pleased to partner with Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center to provide much-needed medical assistance to OFWs and their families. This is a simple way of taking care of and giving back to our OFWs whose diligent work abroad work not only benefit their families, but also the economy. Huwag natin kalimutan ang ating mga OFWs, lalo na ang mga bumalik na sa bansa at nagkakaedad na mas kailangan ng ating kalinga.”, said Rep. Marissa “Del Mar” Magsino said.

Pag-IBIG Fund, together with its merchants, DermCare and i-Remit, also participated in the event. Pag-IBIG Fund’s booth offered services such as membership application and updating and issuance of loyalty cards, while DermCare and i-Remit provided freebies to the beneficiaries. The Department of Health and the management of Ayala Malls Manila Bay also provided its support to the medical mission.
The OFW Party-list and Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center are both committed to partner in health programs, particularly medical missions in different localities, for the benefit of our OFWs and their families.
