FORMER actor-director Ricky Rivero passed away Sunday. He was 51 years old.
The reason for his death was not immediately known but his sister said the actor was rushed in the hospital in May due to another stroke.
Coming from a family of prominent and well-known actors in the industry, Direk Ricky started as a child star until he became a product of GMA Network’s talent program “That’s Entertainment”, and one of the stars featured in the movie “Ninja Kids” in 1986.
Ricky’s partner announced his death through a Facebook post.
“Good morning po inyong lahat maraming salamat po sa tumulong sa asawa ko na c Ricky ngayon po Wala na po c Ricky S. Rivero namayapa na po maraming salamat sa walang sawang tulong sa Asawa ko,” he wrote.
The post did not reveal the cause of his death.
He started appearing in several series and movies, including “The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin” in 2011 and “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” in 2014, playing the role of Big Boy Carnate.
Ricky also opened a chapter to the public regarding his health, especially his weight. In August 2015, he suffered from a heart attack. During that time, DZMM’s Ahwel Paz revealed that he would undergo an angioplasty at the Philippine Heart Center.
Since then, Ricky has always been at risk regarding his health.
Ricky was last seen in the horror comedy film ‘D’ Aswang Slayerz.’ released in February.
