3-4 tropical cyclones will enter PH in July — Pagasa

admin June 29, 2023

THE Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Thursday that it is possible that at least three to four tropical cyclones will enter the country in July.

These storms may make landfall over mainland Luzon and eastern Visayas or enhance the southwest monsoon or “habagat,” said weather specialist Benison Estareja.

Meanwhile, Pagasa said it has not monitored any weather disturbance at least until over the weekend.

“What we have at present is the southwest monsoon which is particularly affecting Central and Southern Luzon and Visayas,” Estareja said.

The Pagasa forecaster said the weather system is bringing cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon), Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palwan) and Pangasinan.

The rest of the country will likely have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the rest of the country, the state-run weather agency said.
