THE Las Piñas City Regional Trial Court has sentenced three persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) for up to eight years.
This as the PDLs pleaded guilty to a lesser offense as accessories in the highly controversial murder case involving broadcaster Percy Lapid.
The information was shared by Roy Mabasa, the brother of the slain journalist, on his Twitter account last Friday.
The convicted inmates are Aldrin Galicia, Alvin Labra, and Alfie Peñaredonda.
The mastermind behind the killing of Percy Lapid, also known as Percival Mabasa, is believed to be former Bureau of Corrections chief Gerald Bantag.
In a bid to apprehend Bantag, the Department of Justice and National Bureau of Investigation have announced a reward of P2 million.
Furthermore, a reward of P1 million has been offered for the arrest of former BuCor deputy security officer Ricardo Zulueta.
Percy Lapid, a radio commentator for DWBL, was fatally shot at the gate of BF Resort Village in Talon Dos, Las Piñas City, on October 3 while he was on his way home.
Lapid was known for his radio commentary show called “Lapid Fire,” where he vocally denounced fake news, red-tagging, and government corruption.
