A FIRE left two boys dead and 30 families homeless in Barangay Addition Hills in Mandaluyong City.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the charred remains of the boys, ages five and eight, were recovered in the aftermath of the fire. The fire broke out at around 7:16 a.m. and reached first alarm, the BFP said in a report.
Arson probers said the fire originated on the second floor of a three-story shanty owned by a certain Marie Kristina Arceli. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The fire razed 10 houses before it was put out at around 8:37 a.m. The blaze destroyed P150,000 worth of property.
The affected residents sought shelter in an evacuation center.
