3 rebeldeng NPA nagbalik-loob sa gobyerno

CAINTI, Laguna-Tatlo katao ang boluntaryo na sumuko sa gobyerno na taga-suporta ng mga rebeldeng komunistang New People’s Army sa Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict ELCAC ng General Nakar.

Nagbalik -loob sa gobyerno si alyas Leah at dalawang kasama na hindi dala ang kanilang mga armas at pampasabog tulad ng M14 rifle, shotgun, apat na Anti-Personnel Mines APM, apat granada at mga bala.

Ayon kay Colonel Cerilo C Balaoro Jr, Commander of the 202nd (Unifier) Brigade naging dahilan ng kanilang pagsuko ang upang magkaroon na ng mapayapang pamumuhay at mapasali rin sa mga benepisyo na ibinibigay ng ating pamahalaan.

Aniya,“Their surrender can be attributed to the Whole-of-Nation Approach in ending the decades long communist insurgency in the country. The remarkable convergence effort among the member agencies of the Municipal Task Force ELCAC which highlight among others the strengthened reintegration program (ECLIP), has significantly affected the will to fight of most NPA fighters and its mass base supporters and made them decide to lay down their arms and pursue the path to peace. Indeed, the most cherished peace and development for the people of CALABARZON is now seen on the horizon,”dagdag pa niya.

Matatandaan noong nakarang Oktubre 2, apat na miyembro ng NPA rin ang nagbalik-loob sa gobyerno kung saan bitbit ang kanilang garand rifle, shotgun, cal.38 revolver at mga bala.
